The School IMT has been instituted with decree 18 november 2005.
The School has been founded from a constituted consortium between the University of Pisa with to the Advanced School Sant' Anna, to the Polytechnic of Milan, the University Luiss Guido Carli of Rome and to the Lucchese Foundation for the High Formation and the research.
IMT is an international graduate school that promotes cutting-edge research in areas with clear practical relevance, contributing to form international professional elites for business and institutions.
Research and teaching programs at IMT focus on institutional and technological change, the role of organizations and markets in economic systems, the analysis of complex systems in social sciences, computer science and engineering.
IMT focuses exclusively on Ph.D. programs, achieving a significant integration between research and teaching.
Since its foundation, IMT has launched 2 editions of five 3-year PhD programs, in the following interdisciplinary research areas:
The undergraduate students are admitted to the IMT after having passed a national public competition.
